Es Vedrà is an island whose magnetism has always captivated all kinds of people: hermits, mystics, artists, and also that other category of visitors, much more frequent these days, but less stationary, called tourists. We all recognize ourselves in this category, and sometimes, only sometimes, after many fruitless, almost desperate efforts, we manage to escape the banality to which a short vacation seems to condemn us if we manage to put aside our cell phones and surrender to the sensations offered by the place we find ourselves, no matter how brief our stay there.
And the Es Boldadó restaurant offers us that magnificent opportunity to rescue from our fleeting vacation an unforgettable experience, to enjoy the best Mediterranean cuisine with the calm that the place deserves while we allow ourselves to be forever captivated by Es Vedrà and its younger sister, Es Vedranell.
Sitting on one of the various terraces located at different levels of the cliff, which offer different perspectives of the beach and the bay of Cala d’Hort, we can sample the restaurant’s specialties, such as fish and seafood paellas, grilled fish, and other typical dishes of the Pitiusas, such as “bullit de peix.”
At the same time, from the table where we find ourselves, perhaps tasting one of the restaurant’s homemade desserts, whether in a casual way, like that fixed gaze on us that we suddenly surprise as it scrutinizes us, or in a more intentional way, when we direct our gaze towards it in search of a shiver or an infinite moment of pause, Es Vedrà appears to us majestic, silent, suggestive, a giant that emerges from the sea, possessing a mystery that we will never be able to reveal and from which we will never be able to detach ourselves.
