In the Illetes i Ses Salines Natural Park we find some of the most emblematic restaurants in Formentera. The opportunity to spend an exceptional day in Illetes, enjoy the best beaches on the island and eat paellas and other typical dishes of Mediterranean cuisine:
- Es Molí de Sal: It is an iconic restaurant in Formentera, due to its location, in the Illetes i Ses Salines Natural Park, in an old restored salt mill, and with impressive views of the beaches of Illetes, and for its traditional Mediterranean cuisine based on quality local produce. Specialty: fish, rice and seafood.
- Tanga: One of the most famous restaurants on the island. Located on the wild side of Illetes, on the beaches of Levante. An informal restaurant in one of the most exclusive areas of the island, with Mediterranean cuisine specializing in paellas and fish.


On the beaches of Migjorn, on the south coast of the island, facing beautiful sandy coves and the different blues of the sea of Formentera, there are some of the most traditional restaurants on the island and others recently opened that have quickly gained the recognition of a varied clientele:
- Vogamarí: Flavours of the sea of Formentera. A free-style restaurant without giving up the culinary tradition of Formentera. Toni Mayans, a well-known chef from Formentera, re-founded the restaurant in 2010, renamed it Vogamarí and turned it into what it is today, one of the most recommended restaurants on the island.
- Es Còdol Foradat: The most renowned restaurant in Formentera, run by the famous Catalan chef Nandu Jubany. Without losing the Mediterranean essence that characterized it for decades, from 2020 Nandu and Eudald Jubany knew how to give it a more modern touch, with tapas and other dishes that never cease to surprise, while offering a warm atmosphere in which it is easy to feel comfortable.
- Can Martí: A new restaurant that the Can Martí family founded in the 70s and that has been taken up again, after several decades, to offer different Mediterranean dishes based on fresh products, with vegetables from its organic garden and meats and fish of the best quality. Since its re-foundation, in just a few months, it has achieved excellent recognition within the local gastronomy.
- Blue Bar: Not only is it not just a bar, but also a restaurant that offers a variety of dishes that distance themselves from the typical Formentera cuisine without losing the essence of the sea that awaits just a few steps away. Marinated salmon, meats, risottos, pastas, its salads to share and its desserts are also famous. Its terrace facing the sea is worth a visit, as is its more relaxed and international atmosphere.





In Es Caló de Sant Agustí, on the north coast of the island, at the foot of the La Mola cliff, there are two restaurants that offer excellent quality Mediterranean cuisine and beautiful views of the other, wilder side of Formentera.
- Can Rafalet Restaurant: This is a classic island restaurant, also known for the terrace in front of the restaurant where you can have breakfast, or have its famous “pa amb coses” in the afternoon, facing a small and beautiful port with traditional wooden piers. In the restaurant, from which you can see the entire north coast of the island, in addition to paellas and fideuás, traditional Formentera dishes such as “bullit de peix” or country salad are offered.
- Es Caló Restaurant: A restaurant founded more recently but which in just a few years has managed to become one of the most renowned on the island. It offers traditional Formentera cuisine with a more modern approach that expands the palette of flavours to the most typical dishes of the island. Located next to the cliffs of La Mola, just a few steps from the sea, this is a restaurant where you can let yourself go.
La Savina is not just the port of entry to the island. As we approach it by ferry from Ibiza, passing one by one the beaches of Illetes and d´en Cavall d´en Borràs, we are overcome with the certainty that Formentera is a different place and La Savina is, without a doubt, the first place to appreciate it. New restaurants subscribe to this idea:
- Beso Beach Restaurant: Located in the Illetes i Ses Salines Natural Park, it is a unique place on the island to enjoy the purest flavour of Basque and Mediterranean cuisine. An authentic fusion that captivates the senses in a paradisiacal setting. An iconic restaurant on the island.
- Cala Dúo is a new restaurant located in the old Sa Sequi, next to the sandy path that gives access to the beaches of Illetes. A place designed for lunch and dinner with Mediterranean dishes and also for having a drink and admiring the sunset with Es Vedrà and Ibiza in the background.
- The Salitre Restaurant, located on the shores of s´Estany d´es Peix, is a tribute to the marine essence of Formentera. It also offers lunch, dinner, snacks and dinner service. A perfect option to enjoy the magic of Formentera in front of one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.






Restaurants for dinner: Both are restaurants that you can only go to for dinner, references on the island despite certain antagonistic aspects… but variety is the key.
- Can Carlos Restaurant: A classic in the evenings of Formentera. Located in Sant Francesc, on the outskirts of the island’s capital, it offers an intimate atmosphere that combines rusticity with the distinctive Italian character, and a cuisine that serves as a counterpoint to the majority of the island’s offerings.
- El Pecador: It is a brand new restaurant that gives a daring twist to the renowned Nandu Jubany formula. A place where dining becomes a spectacle, a hedonistic ceremony, with dishes, dances, juggling and fires that try to disturb our senses towards a new life experience.
