LAS PLAYAS DE LEVANTE

The wildest side of the Natural Park of Illetes i Ses Salines

The Levante beaches are an alternative to the more well-known and crowded beaches of Illetes, on the Poniente coast. Just a few metres away, after crossing the narrow strip of land in the natural park, the same blue and white sand await us.

Levante-cabecera

The wildest, most bohemian and solitary side of the Illetes i Ses Salines Natural Park. From Punta d´es Trucadors, at the northern end of the island, there are several kilometres of long beaches and smaller coves that extend almost to Es Pujols.

The beaches of Levante can be accessed from the main entrance to the Illetes Natural Park or, if we continue further along the road towards Es Pujols, just after leaving the salt flats behind, along a dirt road on the left that leads to the last three small beaches in the natural park.

These are beaches where you can let yourself go and spend the whole day, until sunset, with friends or family, eating under the shelter of an umbrella or in one of the best-known restaurants in Formentera, the Tanga restaurant.

Standing out from the succession of restaurants found on the best-known western coast, it stands out for its casual style and its iconic central trunk, rescued from the waters of Formentera decades ago, which makes it look like a large tipi that welcomes all those who come to enjoy its cuisine.

The Tanga restaurant is characterized by its traditional cuisine with an avant-garde touch: country salads with peix sec, dried fish prepared in a traditional way, fried octopus, paellas, rice and fish.
